When my boyfriend went to the restroom just before we settled the bill, I stayed at the table to pay. When the waiter (or whoever this man in a suit was) approached, I told him I was going to pay by card. He looked very confused and asked, "By card?" I confirmed that I was, and he said quite rudely, "You aren't paying anything; let your *MAN* pay for this" (I should clarify that I am also a man). When my boyfriend returned, I told him what happened; visibly annoyed, he told the waiter that I was the one paying the bill. The man took my payment with a scowl and walked off quickly. I didn't want to write this review but it's necessary. What a pity that I have to give 1 star for the service and client attendance. The food is so good and delicious, I'm half Iraqi and it felt very authentic to me, just as my grandmother cooked to us in Basra city. The ambience was excellent, beautiful decoration, but everything went bad at the moment of paying the bill. I went to the toilet and one of the waiters confused my BOYfriend with a woman just because he's so blonde, pale, has a not very deep voice and a short mane. (Since when women have billy-goat beard!?) The waiter said, in my absence, that my boyfriend couldn't pay with his credit card because he must wait for "his man" to pay the bill. Seriously, what the hell!? Come on, we are in UK-Europe and there's a lot of blonde guys with manes and long hair or alternative style... And what a bloody chauvinistic attitude! A waiter or restaurant manager shouldn't tell something like that to a client. Nothing about their aspect or something that could make them feel bad.

Honestly, the service was amazing and fast, and the staff were incredibly polite and generous. The food was clean, delicious, and plentiful. My sick mother usually finds it hard to please any restaurant, but she thoroughly enjoyed her meal there. We ordered lamb ghoozi (👍👍👍), okra stew, and eggplant stew. On top of that, the prices are way too high compared to the poor food quality.
